About this demo ....

We needed a subject for this demonstration website to focus on to illustrate the ease with which a website can present paintings or photographs.

The loading of the images is carefully tuned to minimise the page load time for the end user, with the majority of the images loading in the background while the first two or three images of the slideshow are being shown.

Independent test bed results for a simulated broadband connection from the USA show a page load time for this website of about 12 seconds - faster than many other providers websites load without images.

We have access to a set of holiday photographs from a holiday in Namibia and hence used them.

Namibia is a truly impressive country of landscape and climate extremes with an absolutely wonderful set of indigenous peoples - if you get the opportunity - visit, soon - while it remains unspoilt!
